and computer support specialist for Philadelphia's top law firms.
-
Impressive score of 98% on the four-hour
certification exam (which has an 80% failure rate) governed by the

As your Magisterial District Judge, Rick will
work tirelessly to implement innovative solutions that make a real
difference in the lives of Carbon County residents:
-
Establishing night court to accommodate
citizens who would lose vital income if they take off from work to attend a hearing.
-
Hosting monthly free workshops, led by local attorneys, to educate
citizens about the legal process and their rights. Encouraging interaction
between residents and those who serve within the courts, police, and
legislative offices.
-
Introducing a Veterans Court at the MDJ level,
addressing the unique needs of our servicemen and women who faithfully
served our country.
-
Offering extended payment plans of up to 2 or
3 years for larger civil sums (currently limited to 12 months).
-
Ensuring full transparency by providing
accessible reporting of all criminal hearings and verdicts.
-
Reducing public stigmatization associated with civil hearings, thereby
promoting a more compassionate and respectful experience within our
judicial system for all citizens.
-
Improve reentry support programs to reduce prison recidivism and promote
successful reintegration into society. The most recent government study of
recidivism reported that 82% of people incarcerated in state prison were
arrested at some point in the 10 years following their release. However,
the vast majority of those were arrested within the first 3 years, and
more than half within the very first year.
-
Establish high school mentorship programs
that engage youth in legal education and activities, such as moot court

careers and encourage positive decision-making to avoid falling into legal trouble later in life.
